You probably have a long list of things you need to get done before your children go back to school. Sadly, one important thing is often overlooked. While visiting our dentist may not be what your children are hoping to do during their summer, it is something that shouldn’t be overlooked.
You see, sugary foods are becoming more and more prevalent in our children’s diet. For this reason, some claim that tooth decay is more common that it has been in the past. As you may know, sugary snacks produce a perfect environment for bad bacteria to grow. Sadly, bad bacteria can lead to cavities. While this may seem like a small issue, nearly 51 million school hours are missed every year because of dental visits—but you can avoid these issues with a dental checkup in summer.
Fortunately, there are a few things you can do to make visiting our dentist a more pleasant experience. For instance, if you have children who nap, try to schedule an appointment that won’t interrupt their sleep. Similarly, remember that a hungry child will probably struggle at our office. Luckily, summer provides a great time for you to find time to visit our team.
Finally, please remember that having dental checkups is extremely important. When you visit our office, we’ll gladly assess the health of your little one’s smile and our team will clean your little one’s gums and teeth.
If you would like to learn more or to schedule an appointment for us, please don’t hesitate to contact our office at 760.729.5964. We’ll gladly answer any of the questions you may have. Dr. Steven A. Beuligmann and our team look forward to hearing from you soon!
